‘Friday with Friends’ Event Highlights Programs Funded by The Friends of Reading Hospital

On Friday, September 14, The Friends of Reading Hospital will host a “Friday with Friends” event from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Canal Street Pub, 535 Canal St., in Reading, Pa. The informal event will provide an opportunity for guests to socialize and also view exhibits that highlight the organization’s mission and accomplishments.

The Friends of Reading Hospital raises funds to support Reading Hospital’s mission to provide accessible, affordable and excellent healthcare to the community. The Friends also provide tremendous support to countywide community wellness initiatives and programs.

“‘Friday with Friends’ offers an opportunity for our guests to discover the impact our projects have had on the community as well as to have fun meeting and greeting old friends and new,” says Gail Clifford, Co-Chair.

The September 14th event will highlight Friends’ initiatives such as Global Emergency Services Communication, which funded the installation of modems in emergency responder vehicles to enhance real-time communication from the field with doctors and emergency staff at the hospital; the purchase of a van and modified ambulance for the Street Medicine program; donations of nearly 600 defibrillators as part of HeartSAFE Berks County to improve the survival rates of people who suffer sudden cardiac arrest; and the purchase of new equipment and room renovations at the Bethany Children’s Home Health Clinic.

“Friday with Friends” will feature food stations, live music by Josh Taylor & Trey LaRue, and beer and wine tasting. Tickets are available online. Tickets will not be available at the door.
