Deadline to be Part of Reading Holiday Parade Extended to Nov. 2

Reading, Pa. – The deadline to participate in this year’s Reading Holiday Parade has been extended to Nov. 2, the Reading Downtown Improvement District announced today. The Improvement District is presenting the parade in cooperation with Reading Mayor Wally Scott’s office.

The parade is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 17 starting at 10 a.m. at 11th and Penn Streets and proceeding along Penn Street to Second Street. This year’s parade theme is “Shine Bright, Reading.”

Application forms for parade participants and sponsors can be found on the Improvement District’s website under the “Events Calendar” tab at www.downtownreading.com. Participants being sought include marching bands, floats, civic and athletic groups, schools, and similar organizations. Sponsorships are being sought for the following: division sponsors, banner sponsors, helium balloon sponsors, and band sponsors.

“We’re extending the deadline to participate in the parade to accommodate those who haven’t had time to sign up for this annual tradition,” noted Charles R. Broad, Executive Director of the Improvement District. “We look forward to presenting another memorable event this year.”
