West Reading celebrates 2nd Friday in July with Creatures of Content, merchant specials and more

Shop, dine and stroll Penn Avenue in West Reading, Friday, July 12th during West Reading’s 2nd Friday celebration from 5 – 8pm. 2nd Friday celebrations include merchant specials and extended hours to enjoy all West Reading has to offer. During the months of May – October, musicians entertain the crowds from 6 – 8 pm on the South side of 6th Ave at Penn Ave by Say Cheese. The band performing during July’s 2nd Friday is West Lawn’s “Creatures of Content”.

Members Ashley Kline (Elysian Jane), Matthew Taylor, Jacob Plank, and Alex Smith create “a funky fresh fusion of covers, originals, and improvisation of all different genres and styles”. The band came together in the Summer of 2018 and credits Grateful Dead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Cake and The Beatles as influences. They released a series of tracks in 2019 on Soundcloud and have been performing at the Ukrainian-American Social Club, Liberty Taproom and various local festivals.
