The Berks History Center and our Signature Sponsor, M&T Bank, invite you to explore the Borough of Wyomissing on the 4 Centuries in Berks Historic Property Tour on Saturday, October 12, 2019 from 9:00am-4:00pm.
The 4 Centuries in Berks Historic Property Tour is a long-standing community tradition that celebrates the rich heritage of Berks County and helps to support the educational programs at the Berks History Center. Now in its 14th year, this year’s tour will explore the architectural treasures and history of Wyomissing.
Carefully planned by real estate developers in 1896 and incorporated as a borough in 1906, Wyomissing is home to a uniquely diverse and dynamic community. The tour will feature Wyomissing’s rich history and unique architecture by giving tour-goers exclusive access to nine historic properties from the 18th through 21st centuries.
“You don’t want to miss this year’s tour,” says 4 Centuries Tour Manager, Vicky Heffner. “We selected nine very special properties that feature the diversity and charm of Wyomissing including one of the neighborhood’s earliest homes built in 1914, a 1922 Tudor Revival, an “Old Wyomissing” home constructed by Thun, Janssen and Oberleander’s Wyomissing Development Company, and more. We thank all of the homeowners as well as our sponsors, who have made this year’s tour possible for the people of Berks County to enjoy.”
Tickets are $35.00 per person and can be purchased in advance at a number of ticket sale locations. The tour is limited to age 12 and older.
