City of Reading City Council Expanded Public Comment Options

Due to the COVID-19 Emergency Declaration, the public is prohibited from attending the City Council’s COW and Regular Business meetings.  Beginning June 6, 2020, the Public can call the City Clerk’s Office by noon on the day of the regular meeting to register to provide public comment through a telephone call during the regular meeting.  Those who register will be admitted into the virtual meeting during the public comment period. Those choosing to register must provide their name, address, phone number and email address when they register.  Instructions to access the meeting will then be provided. Register by calling 610 655 6205.

 Public comment for Regular Business meetings will also be accepted in writing by 5 pm on the day of the meeting through an email to [email protected]. The comment received in writing will be read into the record at the Regular Meeting.   

 During the COVID-19 Emergency Declaration, the COW meetings and Regular Business meetings will be streamed on the City’s website at https://www.readingpa.gov/content/city-council-video and broadcast on the BCTV MAC Channel 99.  The Committee of the Whole (COW) will begin at 5 pm and the Regular Meetings will begin at the conclusion of the COW meeting, but no earlier than 5:30 pm.
