Reading, PA – The Centro Hispano Daniel Torres will host a virtual town hall Thursday June 4th, via its Centro Hispano Daniel Torres Facebook page. The live stream will air beginning at 7pm. The panel of presenters for Thursday’s town hall will include: Reading Chief of Police Richard A Tornielli, Deputy Chief Javier Ruiz, Lieutenant Luz Shade, and Officer Mark Hackney. We are also pleased to share that we will have special guests Marquise Davon Richards of the Dear Reading Podcast, Women2Women 2020 ATHENA Award Recipient Crystal Gilmore Harris, and City Council woman Johanny Cepeda-Freytiz.

“With so much pain and suffering being felt in our community and across the country due to the injustice and racism that continues to have a hold in our country, we wanted to bring together members of our community who can bring their perspective and share in “COURAGEOUS CONVERSATION” about the pain being felt in our country, how we must address and tackle the issues of systemic racism, and where as a community we go from here”, said Centro Hispano’s CEO Mike Toledo. “At the Centro Hispano we have a responsibility as a positive change agent in the community to provide a platform for dialogue. We can no longer be silent on the issue of racial injustice and hope our Greater Reading community joins us to become better educated and aware of the role we all can play moving forward.”
