City of Reading Invites Local Artists to Participate in Logo Design Contest

Reading, PA – The City of Reading is challenging the public to help design a new City logo for official use on various projects. Contest participation is limited to City residents. Submission guidelines and details on the selection process are available online. A judging panel will be made up of members of the City Council, City residents, and local artists who will choose the winner. 

“A logo can intuitively highlight the City’s cultural characteristics, break communication barriers, improve the City’s perception, and enhance people’s pride in the City,” said Mayor Eddie Moran. “As I have mentioned before, I want to become the biggest ambassador for the City and a logo is a key component of branding that will help me promote the City. I often say that we are each other’s neighbor, and with this contest, I want to include our community in participating in the process to continue building a better Reading together.” 

The submission deadline for the logo design contest is Friday, November 27, 2020, at 5 PM. The rules and details are available online at https://www.readingpa.gov/content/city-reading-logocontest in English and Spanish. The winner will receive a monetary prize of $500.
