Humane Pennsylvania’s Paws & Claus

Reading, PA — “Daschund” through the snow to a very festive Paws & Claus on Saturday December 12th at FirstEnergy Stadium with a bag or two of pet food, and receive a free family photo with Santa. This event is sure to please pets and humans alike!

Humane Pennsylvania is partnering with the Reading Fightin Phils and FirstEnergy Stadium to bring some holiday cheer to Berks County, and some desperately needed donations of pet food to the shelves of Spike’s Pet Pantry.

Humane Pennsylvania is building the best community anywhere to be an animal and needs your help. Spike’s Pet Pantry has given away over 268,000 pounds of pet food to pet caretakers in need this year. It is important to keep the shelves of Spike’s Pet Pantry stocked in preparation of the winter months ahead and the expected need for pet food to continue to be in high demand.

Paws & Claus is a community wide event requesting donations from the general public for bags of dry dog and dry cat food in support of Spike’s Pet Pantry. Complimentary festive photos with Santa will be provided to those that bring pet food donations. Donors will also receive a 10% off coupon to the Fightins Team Store to be used that day which is open throughout the event.

“Paws & Claus is a unique event focused on providing Christmas cheer, but will also provide critically needed pet food for our Spike’s Pet Pantry program,” Lauren Henderson, Director of Events & Corporate Relations said, “It’s the time of year for giving, and our hope is that the community will help us stock our shelves with pet food for the coming winter months, and enjoy a fun and free family photo with Santa in front of his tiny house, which is very unique.”

When arriving at FirstEnergy Stadium (1900 Centre Ave., Reading), please remain in your vehicle and volunteers will provide directions to get in line. Volunteers will be stationed throughout the event, and will safely remove the pet food donations from the vehicles, and escort families to their photo with Santa in front of his tiny house. Masks are required when families are out of their vehicles, but can be removed for the photo. Santa will greet families from his porch, as COVID-19 regulations are in place, and families will stand in a designated area for the photo. Pups are encouraged to be in the family photo, but will not be able to be taken off leash or in the photo by themselves.

Glad tidings await your arrival at Humane Pennsylvania’s Paws & Claus! Visit FirstEnergy Stadium at 1900 Centre Avenue, Reading, PA 19601, between 12-3pm for some howliday fun.
