Hilary Aquino Earns Distinguished Faculty Award

Hilary Aquino, Ph.D., of Reading, Pa., assistant professor of history at Albright College, has been named the Dr. Henry P. and M. Paige Laughlin Distinguished Faculty Award winner for 2021.

The Dr. Henry P. and M. Paige Laughlin Distinguished Faculty Award is presented to an Albright College faculty member deemed most worthy of recognition for distinguished teaching.

Aquino is an innovative and dedicated teacher, committed to interdisciplinary education. She is active in Albright’s public health program and its women and gender studies program.

An advocate for student learning outside of traditional classes, Aquino has supervised numerous internships, senior theses and independent study projects. Her teaching is grounded in a commitment to challenging students to develop the skills and self-confidence that they need to become critical, independent thinkers.

Aquino holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dickinson College as well as a Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy from Stony Brook University.
