30th Anniversary Bandshell Concerts will be celebrated in 2021

Berks Arts has partnered with the City of Reading and Berks County to host free community concerts each summer at the City Park Bandshell. In 2021, we are thrilled to present the long-awaited 30th Celebration of the Bandshell Concert Series with a diverse lineup of national and international artists which present unique musical styles to enjoy and explore music from around the world.

Concert-goers are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs and, of course, their dancing shoes to City Park to experience great music in a natural setting.

Berks Arts places a high priority on the health and safety of our community, fans, artists, guests, volunteers, and vendors. In light of the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and the recent outdoor event restrictions, Berks Arts had re-scheduled the 30th Anniversary Bandshell Concert Series from 2020 to 2021.

In support of the City of Reading and County of Berks Stop the Spread efforts, the Bandshell Concert Series will return on July 9, 2021 and we invite the community to help celebrate our 30th Anniversary.

Words cannot express our thanks and deepest gratitude to our community for their continued support of the arts during this time.

2021 Featured Artists

*All events start at 6:00pm with Local Pre-Show Performances.

July 9 – The Commonheart, Soul, Rock, Blues. From Pittsburgh PA. Local Pre-Show Feature is PAL Guitar Club.

July 16 – Cocomama, World Latin Music. From New York City. Performance is part of the Berks County Celebration of Women in the Arts. Local Pre Show Feature is Latin Flair.

July 23 – Timmy Brown (Full Band), Country Music from Nashville, TN.

July 30 – The Albert Castiglia Band, Blues Music. From South Florida. Local Pre Show Feature is Berks Opera.

Any weather-related schedule changes are posted on Facebook and announced on local radio stations. Alcohol and smoking are not permitted in City Park. Dogs must be on a leash.

Food Vendors are available on site.

Berks Arts extends a special thanks to the 2019-2020 Bandshell Concert Series sponsors: County of Berks, City of Reading, Reading Eagle , Inperium Management Services, First Energy Foundation, Lisa Tiger – Century 21 Gold Fine Home & Estates, Visions Federal Credit Union and Berks County Living.

Bandshell is supported through a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.
