Muhlenberg Township, PA Driving Forward Debut Level 2 EV Charging Station

To further our sustainable and green initiatives, Muhlenberg Township is pleased to announce the installation of an EV Level 2 charging station in the front lot of 210 George Street. This project is funded by the state’s PA Driving Forward EV Charging Rebate Program.

This charging station will be open to the public and will charge a nominal fee (to cover our admin, power and maintenance costs) per charge.

The installation of the level 2 charging station is the first and only EV charging station in the Township. The Township’s proximity to Rt 12 and its position along the 5th street corridor creates an ideal spot for people to utilize a charging station for their electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. There are a limited number of EV stations in Berks County. The installation of a level 2 charging station at the Township Municipal Building demonstrates the Township’s dedication to environmental awareness as well as providing an additional service to our residents, vendors and commuters. Muhlenberg Township is proud of this addition and the commitment to innovation and services in local government that it brings.
