Albright named Director of Strategic Partnerships at Albright Science Research Institute

Ellen Albright has been named director of strategic partnerships for pre-college and summer programs with Albright College’s Science Research Institute (SRI). SRI at Albright offers state-of-the-art scientific summer and after-school programming to middle-and high-school students, who learn to function in a high-level scientific research setting while preparing for college and graduate-level research. Currently, more than 80 organizations are partnering with SRI – spanning businesses, scientific industry groups, higher education, professional organizations and foundations.

In this role, Ellen Albright will be responsible for leading and developing the outreach, collaborative partnerships, marketing and program alignment initiatives for SRI. The role also focuses on supporting and enhancing the growth of SRI through strategic planning and implementation. Woven into these efforts will be Albright College’s core values, mission and commitment to diversity and inclusion, ensuring a drive toward equity and access for all SRI participants.

“Ellen Albright brings SRI a skill set that is almost unparalleled — combining an understanding of business and industry workforce development with a K-12 educational foundation,” said Albright SRI Director, Adelle Schade. “Her extensive network in industry and her acumen for educational strategy, will help position Albright College and the Science Research Institute to continue to achieve its vision of being an equitable, sustainable, inclusive learning community and a leader in advancing lives in our dynamic world.”

Previously serving as the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance‘s director for talent and workforce development, Ellen Albright focused on bridging conversations between education partners and local industry sectors to streamline a more robust, prepared workforce pipeline. With many Berks County businesses in need of talent, Albright was responsible for exploring partnerships, new programming and peer-to-peer engagement that supported short and long-term development of our region’s biggest asset: its workforce.

As a community and business leader, Albright has been the recipient of the Berks County Red Cross Hero Award (2021), the Visions Federal Credit Union Heart of a Hero Award (2020), the U.S. Chamber Foundation Business Leads Fellowship (2019) and the Rising Star Award Recipient (2016, Greater Reading Chamber Alliance).

“The Albright College Science Research Institute offers students the framework they need to harness their innate creativity through access to state-of-the-art resources and passionate professionals,” said Albright. “It has been a pleasure to watch this program grow exponentially over just a few short years, impacting local students, teachers, families and our community in such a huge way. Empowering students to lead through learning at such a young age is something I never dreamt of being a part of, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of this initiative and the journey that lies ahead!”
