Reading Police Department Announces Arrest Linked to Weekend Shootings

The Reading Police Department Criminal Investigations Division is releasing the following information relating to the Homicide Investigation that occurred in the 500 block of Cherry Street on Sunday, November 7th at 00:17 hours (12:17 a.m.) that resulted in the death of Mr. José Rodríguez-Bultron and the wounding of another adult male victim.

The investigation led by Criminal Investigator Bradley Silcox resulted in an arrest warrant for Alberto Rivera-Vázquez, 28 years old of Reading for 1st & 3rd Degree Murder as well as related Murder Charges.

Alberto Rivera-Vázquez was taken into custody on November 10th in Puerto Rico with the Puerto Rican Authorities’ assistance and is currently being held in Puerto Rico pending extradition back to Pennsylvania.
