LWV of Berks County Presents: The Cost of Gun Violence

The League of Women Voters of Berks County will host a special program on BCTV Tuesday, August 9th, 2022 at 8pm called “Impacting your Pocketbook: The Cost of Gun Violence.”

Speakers:

Charles F Barbera, MD is President and Chief Executive Officer of Reading Hospital. He prior served many years as Chair of Emergency Medicine for the Reading Hospital.

Hank Butler was instrumental in getting funding through the legislature for security up-grades for non-profit groups. Local organizations getting grants this year included the GoggleWorks, Sacred Heart School, and Reform Congregation Oheb Sholom

Carol Lastowka is the SE Pennsylvania Coordinator for CeaseFire PA, a gun violence prevention movement. As a lifelong hunter and gun owner, Carol is dedicated to advocating for legislation to protect Pennsylvanians from irresponsible gun use.
