Every 2nd Friday of the month, the West Reading shops and restaurants celebrate with “2nd Friday on the Avenue” hosted by the West Reading Community Revitalization Foundation (WRCRF). 2nd Friday on the Avenue is a time to celebrate and recognize our independent shops and locally owned restaurants! - Our independent merchants are celebrating the season all December with Daily Advent Deals and Holiday events! 2nd Friday Advent deals can be found at MADE Jewelry, 512 Penn Avenue, who is offering 20% off one in-stock item from 10-6pm and the Gem on Penn, 635 Penn Avenue, who is offering 10% off your purchase from 6-8pm. - The Cooper Victorian Carolers will be singing on the Avenue Fridays and Saturdays in December. Join them on 2nd Friday from 5-7pm as they stroll in front of our shops and restaurants. Caroling events are sponsored by the West Reading Community Revitalization Foundation.
- Art Plus Gallery, 604 Penn Avenue, is hosting an opening reception for “Metamorphosis” on 2nd Friday from 5-8pm featuring the woodturning artistry of Tim Kravatz. Tim’s genius for turning blocks of wood, often rather gnarly ones to begin with, into creations of extraordinary beauty and imagination will be on full display in this holiday show. In addition to major works, there will be new arrays of his ever popular bracelets, birdhouses, and ornaments. The exhibit continues through December.
