Berks County: Funk Road Bridge Closed in Colebrookdale Township

The Funk Road bridge over a tributary to Ironstone Creek in Colebrookdale Township, Berks County, is closed until further notice. A recent inspection of the structure showed significant deterioration and scour to the bridge support walls.

Funk Road traffic is being detoured on PA 73 and Ironstone Drive. Expect delays and please use caution driving through the area.

The Funk Road bridge over a tributary to Ironstone Creek is a concrete encased steel I-beam structure built in 1934. It is 23 feet long and 14.2 feet wide. The average daily traffic on the bridge is 1,558 vehicles.
