Twin Valley School District Inducts Three Graduates Into Alumni Hall of Fame

The Twin Valley School District (TVSD) School Board and Administration are pleased to share the three newest members of the Alumni Hall of Fame: Mrs. Tammy (Zink) Taylor, Class of 1987; Mr. Daniel Hiltebeitel II, Class of 1996; and Mr. Lance Chappelle, Class of 2010. The three Twin Valley High School graduates were honored on March 23, 2023, at a reception and induction ceremony. Twin Valley School District School Board Members, Alumni Hall of Fame Members, and Administrators gathered to celebrate their outstanding contributions to society through significant career accomplishments and community service.

Mrs. Tammy (Zink) Taylor graduated in 1987 and earned her Bachelor of Science in Art Education at Kutztown University. In 1998, she earned a master’s degree in art education, also from Kutztown University. Mrs. Taylor is now the Middle School Art Teacher at the Twin Valley Middle School. She is a 1992-93 Sallie Mae First Year National Teacher Award recipient and the 2018 Twin Valley Community Education – Community Educator Award recipient. Mrs. Taylor takes pride in inspiring her art students to become critical thinkers through art-related projects and community outreach initiatives. Ms. Chasity Cooper, Twin Valley Middle School Principal, shares, “Students create pieces that they never thought they could achieve with Tammy’s expertise, guidance, and creativity.”

Mr. Daniel Hiltebeitel II graduated in 1996 and earned his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology with a dual concentration in General Technology and Mechanical Technology from Millersville University. He is currently the Engineering Project Manager at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. He also served in the United States Marine Corps as a 1st Lieutenant and Captain, completing three tours in Iraq. Mr. Hiltebeitel is heavily involved in the community, serving on various committees, coaching youth sports, leading cub scouts, attending mission trips, volunteering at various Twin Valley schools, attending Veterans Day events, and more. He even served as a pen pal for Twin Valley students while he was deployed in Iraq. His wife, Renee Hiltebeitel, shares, “Dan’s character is unmatched. He generously gives of his time and abilities. His community service involvement just scratches the surface.”

Mr. Lance Chappelle graduated in 2010 and went on to receive his Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education – Social Studies Teaching Option at the Pennsylvania State University. He then earned his Master of Education in Classroom Technology from Wilkes University. Mr. Chappelle currently serves as a Social Studies Teacher at the Twin Valley High School, a position he has held since August 2014. He helped develop the Advanced Placement Psychology program which has an 89 percent pass rate. He also serves as the Twin Valley High School Mini-Thon Club Advisor. The club which raised money to fight pediatric cancer and benefits the Four Diamonds Fund has raised over $200,000 over the past nine years. Mr. Chappelle is the Varsity Head Golf Coach and Baseball Assistant Coach. Dr. Bill Clements, Twin Valley High School Principal, shares, “Mr. Chappelle’s commitment to Twin Valley exemplifies how the spirit of our school lives on in the hearts of our graduates. He is an engaging teacher who is dedicated to his profession and his students.”

The purpose of the Twin Valley School District Alumni Hall of Fame is to recognize graduates for their outstanding contributions to society through significant career accomplishments and/or community service. The Twin Valley School District Alumni Hall of Fame serves the dual purposes of recognizing such accomplishments and providing role models for current students in the Twin Valley School District.
