Muhlenberg Greene Architects Welcomes New Design Technician
Jacob M. Sockel

Jacob M. Sockel Joins MG Project Design Team

MG Architects is pleased to announce that Jacob M. Sockel has joined our firm as Design Technician II.

Jacob will assist the firm’s Architects and Project Managers with all phases of design documentation and construction contract administration, develop detailed 3D/BIM models and will create construction documents and schedules from those models. He will also assist Project Managers with construction phase contract administration.

The Design Technician II title recognizes Jacob’s professional abilities, creative skills, excellent track record with the firm, and confidence that Firm Principals, Scott Graham, AIA, Bob Conklin, AIA, and Jim Sarro, AIA have in him.

Mr. Sockel is an Associate Member of the American Institute of Architects and is working towards the licensure process in the field of architecture.
Previously employed by the firm for two years as a summer intern, Jacob has been documenting his real-world experience via the industry-standard Architectural Experience Program® (AXP®). Developed by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) and required by most U.S. licensing boards, the AXP provides a framework to guide emerging designers through earning and reporting their professional experience.

Earning a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 2023 from Marywood University School of Architecture, Mr. Sockel is a graduate of Berks Catholic High School, and currently lives in Reading, PA.

Jacob will work out of the firm’s Wyomissing office, but as customary, he will support projects throughout the firm’s service area, including eight states (Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Maryland, South Carolina, Virginia, Vermont) and the District of Columbia.

MG Architects has been providing design, planning, and construction administration services for this area and surrounding states for over 100 years. The firm participates in projects, initiatives and events which nurture local workforce development and provide opportunities for architectural professionals at all stages of their career. We believe that it is our professional responsibility as leaders to provide encouragement, mentoring, and assistance for young architects to gain the broad experience required on their path to licensure. Welcome to the team Jacob!
