Jewish Federation to Hold Vigil for Israel Oct. 11

The Jewish Federation of Reading/Berks, in partnership with Reform Congregation Oheb Sholom, Kesher Zion Synagogue, and Chabad of Berks, announce a solidarity gathering and vigil for Israel at the home of Reform Congregation Oheb Sholom and Kesher Zion Synagogue, 555 Warwick Dr., Wyomissing. The vigil will begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 11.

Jewish Federation of Reading/Berks stands shoulder to shoulder with Israel as we pray for our families and friends, and for the safety of Israel. The community is invited to join us on Oct. 11 for a brief prayer service and candlelight vigil.

Tragically, yesterday, the death toll from Saturday’s surprise Hamas attack rose above 700 in what is now being labelled as the day that saw the most Jews murdered since the Holocaust.

We stand in solidarity with the people of Israel, which has every right to defend itself and protect its citizens.  Jewish Federations are responding with our core partners to support victims of terror, help rebuild damaged infrastructure, and address the immense levels of trauma caused by this horrific attack.

The Jewish Federation of Reading/Berks is the planning, coordinating, and fundraising arm of the Jewish community. The Federation raises and allocates funds for The Jewish Federations of North America’s collective efforts in support of many vital national and international Jewish organizations.
