State Department official Eugene O’Neal, Ph.D., will provide insights into his personal experience working in the foreign service for the annual Spancake Lecture on Political Discourse on Monday, Oct. 30 at 6 p.m. in Albright College’s Science Center Lecture Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
Before joining the State Department, Eugene O’Neal served for two years as a New York City Council Legislative Director. Since joining the State Department, he has been posted to positions in Lebanon and Jordan and is currently serving in Kuwait, from where he will speak remotely.
Originally from New York, Eugene O’Neal graduated from St. John’s University with a bachelor’s degree in sociology/criminology and a master’s degree in government and politics. He completed his doctorate in international relations at the University of Nevada.
Nathan Henceroth, Ph.D., assistant professor of political science at Albright, will moderate the lecture, followed by a question-and-answer session.
Funded by Jenny ’71 and Steven Spancake, and coordinated by Albright College’s Department of Political Science, the annual Spancake Lecture on Political Discourse in America aims to bring prominent speakers to the college, representing a range of perspectives while encouraging dialogue on some of the most pressing and controversial issues facing the nation.
