Fifth Annual Camel Trot 5K and Fun Walk to be Held at Reading Regional Airport

The fifth annual Camel Trot 5K and Fun Walk will be held on Sunday, Nov. 12, at Reading Regional Airport. Proceeds from the event benefit The Camel Project’s Stop Bullying – I Care bullying elimination initiative and funding costs of its Certified Prevention Specialist program and other training.

Registration begins at 8:45 a.m., with the 5K starting at 10 a.m. The Fun Walk starts at 10:15 a.m. Same-day registration and other activities for the event will take place in the airport terminal building. Pre-registration is preferred. Runners/walkers entry fee is $30. More details and online registration are available at https://www.thecamelproject.org/2023-camel-trot-5k.

The Camel Trot 5K course is mainly paved and includes sections on Reading Airport property and nearby lightly traveled roads. Medals are awarded to first-, second-, and third-place runners in each age class. Timing is by Pretzel City Sports.

Sponsors of this year’s event are Customers Bank, the Law Office of Robin J. Gray, Rothenberger Insurance Services – Erie Insurance, and Allison Heist of Zuber Realty.

Water and light snacks are available to all participants. Highlights of the event include the appearance of the Camel Caravan, the Project’s 40 ft. community advocacy vehicle, on the apron adjacent to the terminal.

The Camel Project, based in Reading, is registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Fees and donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
