The Lighting of the Christmas Tree Rescheduled for Nov. 28

Due to the forecasted rain on Tuesday, Nov. 21, the City of Reading has rescheduled the Lighting of the Christmas Tree event for Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 6 p.m.

“As the holiday season draws near, it is important for us to come together to illuminate our community with the radiant spirit of joy and togetherness. This year’s tree-lighting event promises special performances that will light the festive magic within us all. I invite everyone to join me as we begin a holiday season filled with warmth, goodwill, and shared happiness,” said Mayor Morán.

This year’s presentation will feature something for everyone in the family, such as vocal performances by the Reading High School Choir and the Reading Vocal Society, a dance performance by the Olivet Boys & Girls Club, treats from local organizations and small businesses, and special messages from local leaders.

When: Tuesday, Nov. 28 at 6 p.m.

Where: SE Corner of 5th & Penn Street

The Reading Parking Authority announced they are making the following parking lots available to event-goers at no cost from 5-8 p.m.:

  • 5th & Cherry Parking Lot
  • 4th & Cherry Parking Lot
