Berks Alliance Spotlight on Small Business Resource Association

At 12 noon on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024, Berks Alliance will spotlight the Small Business Resource Association via Zoom.

The Small Business Resource Association (SBRA) is a community of small business owners that offers valuable and valued resources for entrepreneurs and small businesses in our region. The SBRA provides an array of programs for seasoned entrepreneurs as well as emerging business owners. Their core underlying principle is that true success in business requires balance, which is why they focus not only on business growth but also on employee development and family enrichment.

The SBRA provides an array of programs and services for business leaders, including business planning; start-up assistance; networking; legal services; human resources, insurance and accounting services; problem-solving business and personal discounts; as well as a library of business-related workshops, podcasts, articles, and seminars.

The SBRA also provides support services for the employees of these small businesses, including coaching and mentoring; numerous benefits; and connecting them with other employees through networking.

In addition, the SBRA also has a program, the Emerging Entrepreneurs Academy, for high school students who are interested in exploring what it means to be an entrepreneur and start a business. This six-week summer program provides high school students with three weeks of classroom instruction each week, followed by a week of internship at a local business. This offers a true learning experience. Over 100 local business owners and entrepreneurs support this program as teachers, presenters, and intern providers.
