Community Days 2024 will be a full week of events planned on the campus of Governor Mifflin Intermediate School for the 48th annual festival. After a successful 2023 event, the new location will now permanently remain at the Governor Mifflin Intermediate School located at 600 Governor Dr., Shillington. This is just a few blocks away from its previous location at the Governor Mifflin Senior High School.

For the first time ever, this year’s Community Days is being extended from six days to a full nine days of activities! It will be held from Friday, Jun. 28 to Saturday, July 6 with all of the entertainment, games, rides, and food that our fairgoers have come to know for close to 50 years. The fair remains a 100% free entry experience.

In preparation for the 2024 festival, The Greater Governor Mifflin League (GGML) has teamed up with Governor Mifflin-based Shillington Social Quarters and Anjoli Productions to present two fundraiser events on March 2 and March 30, both at the Shillington Social Quarters. The events are planned to help raise extra funds for this year’s Community Days. Food and drink will be available from The Shillington Social Quarters. A 50-50 drawing will also be held.

This Saturday, March 2, Community Days Fundraiser #1 will present Shillington’s own “The Uptown Band,” performing for a fundraiser dance from 6-11 p.m. Tickets are $20 ahead of time, or $25 at the door, and are available for purchase on www.theuptownband.com.

On Saturday, March 30, Community Days Fundraiser #2 will present Essential Elvis-Tribute Artist “Jeff Krick, Jr.” and Maryland-based “Blue Angel Tribute to Roy Orbison by Terry Harris,” followed by dancing to “Erich Cawalla & Friends from The Uptown Band.” Tickets are also $20 ahead of time, or $25 at the door, and are available on www.erichcawalla.com.

The Greater Governor Mifflin League (GGML) was founded in 1976 as a non-profit organization devoted to giving back to the community. In every year since, the GGML has presented a unique community fair featuring food, games, rides, and some of the best regional entertainment, including a spectacular “one-of-a-kind” fireworks finale, which will culminate this year on Saturday, July 6. Its main goal has been to return proceeds from the fair back into the community in the form of contributions to local fire companies, ambulance associations, scout troops, school projects, community projects, and scholarships, just to name a few. In our history, the GGML has given over $500,000 back to the Governor Mifflin community.
