Commute PA Champions Sustainability This Earth Day

Commute PA, a program of the nonprofit Susquehanna Regional Transportation Partnership, is calling on local residents who drive alone to observe Earth Day this April by going green. Last April, green commuters in the region prevented over 800 tons of carbon dioxide emissions by choosing eco-friendly travel options.

Motorists can celebrate Earth Day (April 22) all month long by making their drive more sustainable while saving at the gas pump. Commuters may choose an option like transit, carpooling, vanpooling, biking, walking, or telecommuting for all or part of the month. Even a few green commutes can make a big difference!

Commute PA is easy and free – just download the app or join online here. After completing a profile with commuting details and information, users will have access to search for carpool buddies, find available transit routes, record green trips (carpool, vanpool, bike, walk, transit, and telecommute), earn points, syncbike or walk trips, redeem points for discounts and monthly drawings and get reimbursed for an emergency ride home.

Travelers may record their green trips in the Commute PA rideshare and rewards program all through April. Not only will participants help the environment, but they‘ll also be entered to win one of three $100 Tango gift cards. Commute green and get rewarded.
