Historic Preservation Trust of Berks County Film Showing: From the River

by Historic Preservation Trust of Berks County

The Historic Preservation Trust of Berks County will host a film showing of From the River as this month’s 3rd Saturday program on Saturday, May 18, at 11 a.m.

Our 3rd Saturday Programs are back for another year! We will be offering these site-wide programs from May through September. The program begins at the White Horse Tavern unless otherwise noted. Suggested donation: $2/person. All proceeds benefit the Trust.

Our first program will feature a showing of a local film featuring scenes from the Historic Preservation Trust’s very own Morlatton Village. Scenes were filmed in the 1765 White Horse Tavern with costumed volunteers from the Trust organization. From the River is a 35-minute sprint through 350 years of Berks County history. Recently released by Schott Productions in 2023, the film examines the triumphs and tragedies of the region’s history through the stories of the men and women who made it happen. Tracy Schott is a producer/director with more than 25 years of experience creating films and content for television, events, and the web. In 2011, Tracy founded Schott Productions creating hundreds of projects for clients and the community.

The HPTBC is a non-profit organization that acquires, preserves, and maintains historically and architecturally significant properties in Berks County, Pennsylvania, and educates Berks County and its visitors about the role these sites played in Pennsylvania and American history.
