Humane Pennsylvania is hosting a three-day, fee-waived adoption weekend. From Friday, Dec. 1, through Sunday, Dec. 3, Humane Pennsylvania is allowing community members to adopt a shelter dog, cat, or critter, and all adoption fees will be waived at the Berks and Lancaster County adoption centers. All fees will be sponsored by Carpenter Technology and hosted by members of the Strip Department.
Carpenter’s Strip Department has made several productivity and customer reliability improvements within the last year, and, in turn, their team received recognition at the annual Carpenter Impact Awards. Part of this recognition included making a generous donation to a charitable organization of their choice – which is Humane Pennsylvania! This donation will cover all of the fees for animals who are adopted during this particular adoption event.
Adopters wishing to provide a forever home for shelter animals are encouraged to visit the shelter campuses or HumanePA.org. All potential adopters are required to go through Humane Pennsylvania’s diligent adoption screening process (approval is not guaranteed).
Adoptions include:
- Humane Pennsylvania’s 30-day adoption health supplement
- Spaying or neutering (before adoption)
- Vaccinations (including current rabies vaccination) and de-worming medication
- Flea treatment
- Microchipping and chip registration
- Free 1 lb. bag of Science Diet pet food
