BCTV Spreading Awareness for National Immunization Month

With recent advancements in immunization technology and anxiety around the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been increased confusion and misinformation surrounding vaccine efficacy.

Medical science has proven the effectiveness of vaccines in preventing serious illness and death. Vaccines have helped to eradicate smallpox, and more than 21 million lives have been saved through measles vaccinations since 2000. Furthermore, vaccines do not contain toxic ingredients, make someone sick, or cause autism in children. However, widespread misinformation campaigns and skepticism around vaccine efficacy have caused declines in routine vaccination rates in children & adults, and increased spreading of preventable viral diseases.

As part of Berks Community Television’s on-going initiative to connect Berks County with valuable health & wellness information, BCTV will be sharing facts, myth busters, and local resources for National Immunization Month throughout the month of August across multiple platforms.

BCTV is launching new campaigns every month in 2022 to connect Berks County with information to promote healthy living. Monthly themes will be announced and promoted with messaging distributed across the media organization’s multiple platforms.

Follow BCTV on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram and tune in to BCTV during the month of August for tips, statistics, and resources.
