Commissioners’ Update to provide info, answers about Small Biz Grant program

Reading, PA – The Berks County Commissioners will host their Weekly Media and Public Update on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at 3:30PM on Microsoft Teams Live Event. Click here to find the link to this meeting. This week’s update will focus on the Berks County Small Business New Start Grant program that will be launching on Sept. 10. The $6 million program will award grants ranging from $10,000 to $50,000 to Berks County small business owners based on revenue level. Important information and a checklist for small business owners to use as they prepare to fill out the online application can be found at www.rebuildberks.com/funding.

The weekly update will give the background of the program, explain how it will work and provide tips for what business owners can do now to prepare for the application. Potential applicants will also be able to ask questions about the program and application process. The panel will include the Berks County Commissioners, representatives from the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance and members from the Community First Fund team.

This Press Event will also be streamed Live to the Berks County Facebook and YouTube pages, and air live on BCTV.

4) Question and Answers – Facilitated by Commissioner Rivera
5) Wrap up on New Start Grant Program: Application window dates, how to access application, important documents on websites with information on how to complete application.
6) Other available grant programs/Small Business Restart Grant program: How do they differ from this one? Can a business owner apply for more than one? How do I apply?
