Building a Better Boyertown (BaBB) is thrilled to announce its first annual Boyertown Day featuring casket races and BaBB’s 20th anniversary celebration. This brand-new event will celebrate everything that makes Boyertown unique – from caskets to cigars. The capstone activity will be Boyertown’s very own casket race. Boyertown Burial Casket Company opened in 1893 and was the town’s largest employer. It became the second largest casket maker in the world in the 1960s and 70s, employing over 1,000 people and producing over 60,000 caskets per year. The company closed in 1988.
