Brandywine: A Military History of the Battle that Lost Philadelphia But Saved America

April 22 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

$5 – $8

During our June Second Saturday Program, historian Michael Harris sets the record straight that although General John Sullivan is frequently held responsible for the Continental Army’s defeat at the Battle of Brandywine in 1777, a contemporary examination of primary documents reveals a significantly different story.

By re-evaluating the events of that day, Harris encourages us to reconsider our understanding of General Sullivan’s role in the outcome of the Battle of Brandywine and offers a fresh perspective on this pivotal moment in American history.

This program will be held in person, inside the BHC Museum Auditorium. The cost of this program is $5 for BHC members and $8 for non-members. Coffee, hot tea, juice, and light refreshments will be made available for participants at 9:30 AM.
