The Sheen of Copper — “There is in Eastern Pennsylvania a metalliferous district of peculiar interest.”—George W. Geist, 1907. Among others, The Caledonia copper mine near Schwenksville is the oldest mine of any kind in the state and may have been worked as early as 1695. (Talk includes mostly new material.)
