The Wyomissing Public Library will offer a public program about Environmental Justice on Thursday, April 15th at 6 PM via Zoom.
According to the US Department of Energy, “Environmental justice is the fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people, regardless of race, color, national origin, or income, with respect to the development, implementation, and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations, and policies.”
Karen Feridun, founder of Berks Gas Truth, will talk about the concept of Environmental Justice and how it affects everyone and all aspects of our lives from housing to the water we drink and the air we breathe, now and into the future.
In addition to organizing Berks Gas Truth, Ms. Feridun is the co-founder of the statewide Better Path Coalition. She writes about environmental issues for The Huffington Post and Daily Kos.
The virtual program is free and open to the public; registration is required.
