Get Up To Date On Vaccinations During Immunization Awareness Month

Continuing its monthly health campaign series, Berks Community Television (BCTV) will be sharing facts, statistics, and resources during the month of August for Immunization Awareness Month. The campaign aims to education the community on the importance of staying up to date on routine vaccinations.

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) thousands of U.S. adults get sick from preventable diseases due to lack of vaccinations, leading to severe illness or death. Adults should stay up to date on their vaccines, as immunity from childhood vaccines can wear off overtime.

BCTV hopes to raise awareness on the importance of immunization and to debunk common myths and misinformation about vaccines and their impacts on the body.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Library of Medicine are a few important resources for more research and information about recommended vaccines and preventable diseases and conditions.

Berks Community Television is committed to improving the health and well-being of the Berks County community.
