Grant a Windfall for GRACT’s “Bombshell”

Recently, the Berks Arts Council released the names of local non-profits awarded grants for the Celebration of Women In the Arts.  The Greater Reading Alliance of Community Theaters is delighted to announce that GRACT is among the grantees.

With the grant from the Arts Council and matching funds from our organization, GRACT will present Blond Bombshell, a play by local playwright, Sue Sneeringer.  To be performed in the Perkins auditorium at Penn State Berks, Blonde Bombshell will be presented June 4, 5 and 6.

Three women of three generations of one family comprise the cast.  Grandmother Lois is the blonde bombshell, her daughter, Emma, is estranged from her mother, while granddaughter, Shannon, is largely ignorant of her grandmother’s colorful past.

As befits this production celebrating the role of women in the arts, GRACT is seeking a female director to guide the production.  Those interested in the position are invited to submit a resume to [email protected] no later than Friday, February 14, 2020.
