Herbein + Company, Inc. Names Three to Firm Partnership

Herbein + Company, Inc. (Herbein), a leading Mid-Atlantic accounting and consulting firm, has announced the admission of Stacy A. Weller, CPA, David E. Peritz, and Kim A. Vandergrift, CPA to the firm partnership, effective October 1, 2021.

Prior to their promotion, Weller and Peritz had been senior managers. Vandergrift joined Herbein with the firm’s 2021 acquisition of Tubiello-Harr & Associates, LLC, a Lehigh Valley accounting and consulting firm.

Weller began her Herbein career as an intern in 2012, and quickly displayed her client-first approach. She manages multiple individual and corporate client tax engagements, and serves a broad client base that includes manufacturing, professional services, and investors. Weller specializes in individual tax planning, compliance, and tax minimization strategies, and focuses professionally on estate, trust, gift planning, and compliance for high-net-worth individuals, working closely with attorneys and other professionals in the areas of estate and trust.

“We are delighted that Stacy is now a Partner with the firm,” said Herbein Managing Partner David W. Stonesifer. ”She is an exceptional tax advisor, who has made outstanding contributions to our success since beginning her career with us as an intern.”

With over 25 years of diversified public accounting experience, Peritz’s background includes service with two national accounting firms prior to joining Herbein legacy firm Gable, Peritz, Mishkin & Co. in 2002, which merged into Herbein in 2018. He has extensive experience working with health care professionals, wholesale and retail businesses, real estate entities, and construction companies. Peritz has consulted on the organization and start up of numerous ventures and operating businesses, in every stage from forecast through the operational phases.

“Dave is a highly skilled tax professional with a positive, entrepreneurial attitude that aligns well with our collaborative workplace,” Stonesifer said. “I look forward to his continued creativity and insights as he begins the next important stage of his career.”

Vandergrift has over 29 years of public accounting experience, and serves a variety of industries including manufacturing and distribution, not-for-profits, financial institutions, and benefit plans. Her clients have ranged from mid-market privately owned industries to publicly traded SEC registrants. Throughout her career, Vandergrift has assisted clients with addressing technical financial reporting issues, designing, and documenting internal control structures, advising regarding financing needs, startup ventures, consulting regarding mergers and acquisitions, and financial projections and management.

“Kim is well-known throughout the Lehigh Valley for her excellent technical ability and the strong relationships she forges with her clients to help them succeed with confidence,” Stonesifer said. “We are excited to have her become a member of the partnership as she joins Herbein.”

As Herbein prepares to celebrate its 50th year of operation in 2022, Stonesifer noted that the firm’s future is bright.

“Stacy, Dave, and Kim epitomize the deep talent Herbein brings to client service – and these promotions add to our strength. Their admission to the partnership demonstrates that we continue to build an exceptional pipeline of talented professionals who will help us drive the firm’s growth. We welcome them to the partnership.”
