Out of the Blue: Pregnancy and Postpartum Support Group

UPDATE: Out of the Blue will now be meeting the 4th Thursday of every month at the Greater Reading Mental Health Alliance at 6:30pm.

Feeling anxious, depressed, sad, fearful, nervous, obsessive, irritable, not yourself, cabin fever? Having scary or unhelpful thoughts? Not sleeping?

As many as 1 in 7 women experience Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders within the first year or so of finding out they are having a baby or after the birth of the baby. Whether you’re a new mother or an experienced mother this group is for you.

This group is to offer emotional support, resources, self-care techniques, coping skills, and education.

When: 4th Thursday of the month

From: 6:30-7:30pm

At: Greater Reading Mental Health Alliance – 1234 Penn Avenue, Wyomissing, PA 

This is an open group, no registration required, and you may attend as often or as little as you like.

Everlasting Wellness is a mental health counseling private practice specializing in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders and Trauma. Amanda Hunter, owner of Everlasting Wellness, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Perinatal Mental Health Certified Therapist and Nationally Certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Amanda has intensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma, and Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders, Depression, and Anxiety. Amanda has worked with most populations and all ages. Amanda has therapeutic experience with all ages in schools, hospitals, doctor offices, outpatient settings, foster care, hospitalization programs, in-home services and home health care agencies.

Everlasting Wellness offers counseling services in the Berks County Area, located in West Lawn, PA. Everlasting Wellness offers online, face-to-face, and in-home counseling to better serve clients within the Reading Area. Amanda has made herself knowledgeable on community resources and has made connections with other professionals and is offering brief case management services for her clients. Everlasting Wellness understands that behind a person is a family which maybe struggling or have questions as well, which is why Everlasting Wellness also offers brief family counseling and couples/support persons counseling.  Amanda also offers a free support group through the Great Reading Mental Health Alliance for Pregnant and Postpartum Women.

Amanda Hunter’s main goal is to make it known that the people who are struggling with mental health disorders or struggling to make it through each day, are not alone and can feel better, with help and support.
