RAPTR Adventures: Episode 63 – Brown Sharks and Blue Cats and More…Oh My! (Director’s Cut)

In this episode producer & host Dave Kline meets back up with guide Kevin the Catterman in Delaware to attempt to locate, catch and tag sharks for NOAA’s Voluntary Shark Tagging Conservation Program. The guys also travel to the Nanticoke River in search of Blue Catfish.

Within the 36 hour marathon, multi-species fishing and tagging adventure the guys interact with a diverse array of fascinating species in the salt water of the Atlantic and the brackish water of the Nanticoke River.

Sandbar “Brown” Sharks, Bluntnose Stingray, Clearnose Skate, Gizzard Shad, “Snapper” Bluefish, Striped Bass, White Catfish, Blue Catfish, Skate Egg Casings (Mermaid’s Purse), Whelk Egg Casings (Mermaid’s Necklace), Sandflea Crabs, Horseshoe Crabs, Osprey diving for food, gulls laughing at the rising sun, crows dancing in the sea foam, a pod of dolphins patrolling just offshore, and even a beachcombing fox in the wee hours of the morning, were all part of the experience.

All of this under the light of a full moon with Venus and Jupiter in the twilight sky and Mars and Saturn in the dawn sky.
