Update from Reading Downtown Improvement District: The Go Go Gadjet concert scheduled for this Friday in downtown Reading has been CANCELED. Judging from the weather forecast, Mother Nature isn’t expected to cooperate for this outdoor event. The major potential for thunderstorms and high winds has made the organizers decide to err on the side of caution.

But don’t forget that we have other free outdoor concerts coming up this summer! The Downtown Alive concert series will kick off on June 21 at 5 p.m. in the 500 block of Penn Street featuring performances by international salsa star Frankie Negron, a multiple Grammy and Billboard Award nominee, and Charlie Cruz, who is one of Puerto Rico’s best salsa performers. For more information about the Downtown Alive free concert series, go to www.downtownalivereading.com.
