Fightin Phils to Recognize State Champion Boyertown High on May 12

The Reading Fightin Phils, double-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, are excited to recognize the Varsity Girls Basketball team of Boyertown High School for winning the PIAA 6A Girls Basketball Championship this season on Friday, May 12 at FirstEnergy Stadium.

The Boyertown High Bears defeated North Allegheny of Wexford, Pa by a score of 46-35 on March 24th at the Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania to win their first-ever state championship in girls’ basketball. The Bears put together one of their greatest seasons in program history by compiling an overall record of 28-5 and finishing with a 10-1 league record.

The Fightin Phils will have a pre-game ceremony to honor the state champions including their coaches, managers, athletic trainers and the athletic staff as a part of the Fightin Phils Neighborhood Champions Ceremony thanks to FirstEnergy. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. on Friday night with the ceremony starting at 6:30 p.m.
