SHILLINGTON, PA – Mifflin Community Library will present Charlie Zahm & Friends in a free concert on Sunday, July 9, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Mohnton Memorial Park Band shell on Walnut Street, Mohnton for its second performance of its 2017 Summer Concert Series.
Charlie is one of the most successful performers on the Celtic music festival circuit. With a strong baritone voice some have described as “coming along once in a generation” and a master of the guitar, Charlie weaves magical moments of Scottish, Irish and American history for the listener and viewer. He has a strong passion for the performance and a chosen repertoire sure to please all members of the family.
Charlie will be joined by Baltimore fiddler Tad Marks and guitarist Steve Hobson. Tad has toured extensively across the United States and Europe with top-name groups and is considered one of the finest fiddlers on the East Coast. Steve is an excellent guitarist and has played with Charlie at many festivals, concerts and recording events for more than a decade.
Charlee has released two VD projects: “Out of the Mist” was released in 2002 and was entirely filmed in Scotland; and “Charlie Zaham: An Evening of Classic Melodies” a live concert DVD which was produced in 2007 in cooperation with the Franklin Springs Family Media of Nashville. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket to relax and enjoy the concert. Food is available at the snack bar in the park. In case of rain, the concert will be held at the St. John’s Parish House at One Front Street Plaza in Mohnton.
