Senior Softballers Raise Funds for PA Wounded Warriors

The Lyons Men’s Senior Softball team will be hosting a cookout fundraiser for the Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors, Inc. on Saturday, July 8th and Sunday, July 9th, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the parking lot of Sam’s Club, 5th Street Highway, Temple. Grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, along with refreshments will be for sale. All net proceeds will be donated to the PAWW. Everyone is invited.

PA Wounded Warriors, Inc. is a volunteer, independent statewide 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, dedicated to providing support to Pennsylvania’s wounded warriors, veterans in crisis, and their families. Ninety-five percent of all donations received are allocated to assist Pennsylvanian heroes and their families.

Coach Tony “Pa Pou” Dissinger says, “We are fortunate to have Assistant Coach, Dave Schaeffer as our Sam’s Club liaison to make this a special day for our Pennsylvania veterans.” Schaeffer says, “It is an honor and a privilege to be able to raise funds for such a worthy cause and we appreciate Sam’s Club giving us the opportunity.”

The Lyons Men’s Senior Softball team is a 62 year old and over team in a regional softball league. Infielder Charles “Champ” Milch says, “This is a great opportunity for our team to give back to our veterans. Everyone should come out and enjoy some good food for a great cause.”
