Heating, energy assistance program accepting applications

Nov 10, 2017 • by Office of Rep. Mark Rozzi
Without heating assistance, people may turn to riskier ways of keeping warm.

The 2017-2018 Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program – LIHEAP – is accepting applications as of Wednesday, Nov. 1.

LIHEAP offers cash grants of $200 to $1,000, which are sent directly to the utility company to defray heating costs for eligible households, and crisis benefits of $25 to $500 for households in immediate danger of being without heat.

Please consider visiting my office if you need help filing a LIHEAP application.

LIHEAP information also is available by contacting the Berks County Assistance Office at:
