Rebranded Taste of Chamber Event Expands to Farm & Food Businesses

Reading, PA – The Greater Reading Chamber Alliance (GRCA) invites the community to attend its Taste of Berks event on Wednesday, February 21 at the Crowne Plaza Reading from 5 to 8 p.m. Guests can sample the best foods that Berks has to offer through our GRCA members in the food, agriculture, and hospitality industries.

This year, the event has been expanded to include agricultural businesses and food manufacturers in addition to restaurants, caterers, banquet venues, and food/beverage vendors. Over 40 vendors are expected to participate in this year’s event, representing the breath of amazing foods that are grown, produced, and created artfully right here in the Greater Reading region.

“Berks County Department of Agriculture and Berks Agricultural Resource Network (BARN) is excited to be invited to participate in this year’s Greater Reading Chamber Alliance Taste of Berks!” says Tami Hildebrand, Executive Director, Berks County Department of Agriculture. “This will be a wonderful opportunity for you to meet our local producers and to have them share their products and passion and to celebrate the secret that we’ve known for years: Berks is bountiful!”

Taste of Berks is Greater Reading’s premier night of Berks foods and entertainment. This year’s event also takes place in a new, larger location, the Crowne Plaza Reading. The event will also feature live cooking demonstrations by the Crowne Plaza’s Chef Tim. No matter your tastes, there is something for everyone to enjoy at this diverse event.

“One thing I learned since I came to Berks County a year ago was that people in Berks County like to eat!” said Randy Peers, GRCA President & CEO.  “From scrapple to apple cider donuts and every type of cuisine in between, we have an amazing array of food options to choose from.”

Guests can come for the amazing selection of local food samples and stay for a fun-filled evening of entertainment, music, networking, donated raffle prizes, and casino games hosted by GRCA Ambassadors.
