Holiday Spirit

A group led by Savage 61 General Manager Tim Profit rescued “Reading’s Christmas on the Mountain” in 2015 and has invested heavily again with significant upgrades for 2018.

Reading, PA –  Now in its 28th year the Hillside Playground has been transformed (located on North 14th street in
the city of Reading) into a Christmas Wonderland. It has become affectionately known as “Christmas on the Mountain”. This free to enter display, now with over 1 million led lights, inflatables, vintage and modern decorations. An extended light show set to your Favorite classic and modern holiday music, a completely new “Frozen on the Mountain Area”, and a beautiful replica Santa’s workshop along with a few new additions for 2018. The renovations will not disappoint the many Berks county residents that consider “Christmas on the Mountain” an annual tradition when the display opens for the Season Saturday November 26th.

Tim Profit and Reading’s Christmas on the Mountain volunteers have significantly expanded display. “The some people may consider\ the upgrades to the display over the top. But that’s just what we were going for. Our target, was to rival paid displays with our Free to Enter Christmas Ridiculousness,” said Profit a 1999 RHS graduate.

The Reading High School Marine Corps JROTC continue to be committed to the setup and ongoing operational manpower of their 600 cadets. The cadets and the volunteers have been setting up for the 2018 Christmas Season for over a month and will continue until the opening on Saturday November 24th.

Reading’s Christmas on the Mountain exists today solely because of the support of local businesses. While Savage 61 Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram and Axcess Industries has provide the majority of the startup and continuous funding.
