Reading Public Library to Stage Outdoor Dance Production

Reading, PA –   An original dance production, “Where the Trees Walk” will be held on The Steps @ Main Library, 100 S. 5th St. TOMORROW Saturday, July 27 at 12 pm. This fourth annual Storytelling through Dance presentation will tell the story of a child who is separated from her parents after the family flees their war-torn country.

For the fourth year, Barrio Alegria has partnered with Reading Public Library to engage community members through the arts, creating opportunities for participants to explore self-limiting beliefs and gain leadership skills. Over 45 participants will tell the story through 14 dance choreographies in this premiere performance. Participating organizations and groups include Abilities in Motion, Centro Cultural Latinos Unidos, and the Reading School District. Live music will be provided by Musical Acts of Kindness Society (M.A.K.S.). The diverse musical score includes works from a range of composers from George Harrison and Scott Joplin to Joe Hisaishi and The Chrono Trigger Symphony.

There is no charge for admission and seating is general admission on The Steps @ Main.
