Bodie, Getz Named Alvernia Players Of The Week

Reading, Pa. (Sept. 16, 2019) – Football freshman Myles Brodie and Field Hockey freshman Felicia Getz were named Alvernia Players of the Week for their performance during the week of September 9 – September 15, 2019.

Myles Brodie was responsible for three takeaway on Saturday against the University of New England. Brodie halted three dives by the Nor’Easters on Alvernia’s side of the field to keep the Golden Wolves within one score of New England for the entire game. Brodie intercepted a pass in the end zone on New England’s first drive of the game to keep the game scoreless. He then forced a fumble on Alvernia’s 29-yard line in the second quarter, and capped off the turnover hat trick with a forced fumble in the third quarter. Brodie earned MAC Defender of the Week for his efforts.

Felicia Getz scored four goals for Alvernia in a 1-1 week for the Golden Wolves. After trailing 2-0 to Gettysburg on Wednesday, Getz scored two goals for Alvernia to tie it up at 2-2. The Bullets would go on to win the game 3-2 on a goal in the final 90 second of regulation. On Saturday against Wilkes University, Getz put Alvernia up 2-0 in the 15th minute of play. After Wilkes came back to tie it at 2-2, Getz sent in the game-winning goal in the 48th minute to secure the 3-2 Alvernia win.
