Guest Speaker Javier Ávila’s lecture is open to public
WYOMISSING, Pa. — As part of Hispanic Heritage Month, Penn State Berks will host its seventh annual Latino Forum for high school students from 9:00 – 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 18. The event will begin in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium and is open to students from all Berks County high schools, as well as members of the local Latino community.

This year’s keynote speaker is Javier Ávila, renowned poet, author and professor. Ávila’s will present “The Trouble with My Name,” which tells the story of his life and what it means to be the American of the future. Ávila’s presentation is jointly sponsored by the Penn State Berks Arts and Lecture Series and the Penn State Berks Diversity Committee.
His lecture will run from 10–11:30 a.m., and it is free and open to the general public.
