My name is Max Horn. I am a Senior at Alvernia University. I’m a goaltender on the Men’s ice hockey team but I am involved in many other things throughout the Alvernia campus and the community.
The holidays are everyone’s favorite time of the year, which is why Holiday Hugs was started back in 2013 when I saw a family lose everything around the holiday time due to financial problems because of an illness in the family. I know what I had to do then, not only did I get enough gifts to give this family the holiday that change their life and emotions but I was able to collect toys for a children’s hospital and give those kids that were sick and weren’t able to have the holiday that I was able to have, just that. The smiles, love, and satisfaction from the kids warmed my heart and gave me the determination to continue this and grow Holiday Hugs year by year.
The children at Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital might not have a lot to make them happy this holiday season so I wanted to do something to change that. Work and hockey have made children a very big part of my life between coaching and working around kids. I’m collecting new and unwrapped toys for all ages. Gifts for teens are most needed.
