Below are the highlights of the October 2019, Franklin & Marshall College Poll. Complete results can be found at http://www.fandm.edu/fandmpoll

· More than half (57%) of the state’s registered voters believe the state is “headed in the right direction.”

· Only one in three (35%) registered voters believes that the United States is “headed in the right direction.”

· The legalization of marijuana is supported by 58 percent of voters, but 40 percent are much less likely to support legalization if marijuana were to be sold in state liquor stores.

· Former Vice President Joe Biden (30%) is the top choice for president among Pennsylvania’s registered Democrats, followed by Senator Elizabeth Warren (18%). Bernie Sanders trails at (12%), and Pete Buttigieg at (8%).

· About one in three (35%) registered voters in Pennsylvania believe President Trump is doing an “excellent” or “good” job as president, which is consistent with recent F&M polls.

· Two in five (37%) registered voters believe President Trump has done a good enough job to deserve re-election, while three in five (59%) voters say it is time for a change.

· More than half (57%) of registered voters in the state support an impeachment inquiry into President Trump. Few Republicans (21%) or conservatives (18%) support an inquiry, while almost all Democrats (85%) and liberals (97%) do. Majorities of Independents (61%) and moderates (67%) support an inquiry.

This survey reflects interviews with 482 Pennsylvania registered voters, including 226 Democrats, 188 Republicans, and 68 Independents conducted by the Center for Opinion Research at Franklin & Marshall College from October 21-27, 2019.
